Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) is open to cooperating with Warisan, said its President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Maximus said that PBS welcomes political friends who share the same aspirations.
“We are constantly on the lookout for political friends and partners to make Sabah a better land for genuine people of Sabah.”
“Therefore, we take note on the political gesture by the President of Parti Warisan Sabah Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal to cooperate and work together for the good of all Sabahans.”
Maximus who is also Kota Marudu Member of Parliament added, his colleagues in GRS and PN shoulf welcome the idea by Warisan.
“I hope the nice gesture of political cooperation from Warisan and our PBS response for political friendship on behalf of GRS can improve political stability and socioeconomic development in Sabah.”
“We should welcome political cooperations for the sake of the people, so long as the intentions are sincere and there are no selfish conditions.”
On Tuesday, Warisan President Datuk Seri Panglima Shafie Apdal said that his party would like to work with Sabah-based parties like PBS.
“I’d like to work with PBS honestly, I don’t mind. It’s a local party, I know their sentiments, the spirit, desire and their struggles.”
“(PBS president) Maximus Ongkili is an old friend of mine and (PBS vice-president and Sabah deputy chief minister) Joachim Gunsalam is a nice guy.”
“Let’s work together … why not?”
