Warisan President Datuk Seri Panglima Shafie Apdal has emphasised on unity among all Malaysians, in his recent Chinese New Year message.
In a 2 minutes 33 seconds released on Thursday, Shafie said, despite the changes Covid-19 has brought upon the people’s lives, some things are worth remaining the same and defending.
Among them are mutual respect and unity.
“Since Covid-19 happened early last year, many changes that we call “the new normal” today have happened.”
“Nevertheless, some things are worth remaining the same and defending to the very end. Among them, mutual respect and harmony among Malaysians of all race, creed or religion.”
Shafie who is also the former Chief Minister of Sabah added, Malaysians must continue to unite despite the challenges faced.
“We may not be able to do house visitations this year, but I am confident that a continuous spirit of unity among all Malaysians will ensure we are on course to rebuild a better and more prosperous nation.”
