DAP’s Ramasany Palanisamy has confirmed that PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had relied on kleptocrats and court cluster to bring Pakatan Harapan the much needed numbers.

Via a Facebook post, the Penang Deputy Chief Minister lamented that Anwar had failed miserably, despite attempts to get the support of some UMNO MPs.

“I really wonder why he would put hopes on UMNO to get the numbers.”

“Even before last year’s budget, he counted on UMNO to defeat the budget, but UMNO did not deliver what was promised according to Anwar.”

With regards to the recent failure, the DAP leader also said that Anwar had relied on the court cluster to bring in the much needed six or more MPs.

“He (Anwar) must be held responsible for some of the strategic and tactical errors in the recent past.”

“He should not have counted the chicken before they were hatched.”

“Even at the present moment, he (Anwar) does not make sense why he trusted some of the UMNO leaders for support, especially the court cluster.”

The court cluster refers to specifically UMNO leaders with court cases.

Among them are Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Despite the admission, Ramasamy pleaded for the public not to blame Anwar.

“No leader is indispensable; Anwar is not indispensable. But Anwar cannot be shunned just because he could not get the numbers to become the prime minister.”

“Blaming Anwar for the political defeat might not be the wise thing to do.”
