As Perikatan Nasional jostle for seats in the coming Sabah State Elections, Warisan wasted no time going to the ground.
Earlier on Saturday, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, the Sabah chapter Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Chairman declared his party is ready to contest 45 of the seats being contested.
73 State Legislative Assembly Seats will be in Sabah this coming State Election.
Should PPBM get the lion’s share of the 45 seats it is asking for, the remaining 28 will be shared by Musa Aman’s United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), current Federal Minister Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili’s Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan’s Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR), Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) and Azmin Ali’s faction who are currently partyless.
Meanwhile, senior Warisan leaders have started hitting the ground.
Led by Vice Presidents Datuk Peter Anthony and Datuk Junz Wong, the team were at Tambunan to explain why the Sabah Legislative Assembly was dissolved.
Peter told the attendees, because of the manouvres led by a certain West Malaysian politician desperately holding onto power, the entire Sabah is dragged into this mess.”
“We did not start this bah. But this particular leader in Semenanjung wants the numbers, so he thought of coming to Sabah to get it.”
Junz meanwhile, said the Chief Minister’s preference is to continue administering and developing Sabah.
“But we have no choice due to the froggings. So the only fair, brave, honest and democratic thing to do is to dissolve the State Assembly and return the mandate to the people.”
“We leave it to the wisdom of Sabahans and I trust the wisdom of Sabahans.”
Their addresses were met with claps and occassional chants of “hidup Sabah”.
The gathering was attended by some two hundred villagers, predominantly from the Kadazan Dusun and Murut tribes.
